Flip Flop Alley relied on Dark Glass Media to update their website and eCommerce solution. Their previous website had served it’s purpose well, but in the spirit of keeping up with the latest trends in flip flops and sandals, it was becoming harder and harder with a dated website. After meeting with the owners, Dark Glass Media put together a package that would help Flip Flop Alley achieve several goals for their business and brand. The first goal was to update the look and feel of the site. We decided to go with a Florida outdoor beach theme, and came up with a design that highlights their great products and invites their clients inside for a look at their store. We created a new logo and started created the page layouts. Our goal was to have bright colors, great pictures and of course, lots of flip flops!

Another goal we had, was to try to increase the storefronts traffic. In order to do this, we used several methods. Many times, in a website rebuild, it takes time for the new site to be fully indexed and for traffic to start coming to the site organically. Dark Glass Media normally recommends a highly targeted pay-per-click campaign to jumpstart traffic while you’re finishing the website build, and making changes. The advantage here is, you are paying directly for results. If you don’t get results, you don’t pay. With some targeted research on keywords and analyzing competitors sites, we put together a highly targeted campaign of several hundred keywords, with thier ads directly linked to specific pages the ads targeted. The campaign was, and is still, very highly successful.

Another method we used was to optimize their website for search engines. We utilized our standard SEO package that we offer on every website build, as well as the best tools in the industry to make sure the site is optimzed and search engine friendly. We use several SEO/SEM programs, as well as Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools. The entire product catalog has been uploaded and submitted to Google Products, which makes finding their products much easier for their clients.

Today, the website is steadily increasing in both traffic, and more importantly sales. The conversion rate is dramatically increased, as so has their ROI (return on investment). From the time the site launched in August of 2009 to the end of November of 2009, the site saw a 200% increase in online sales.
